Long Eaton firefighters receive Long Service Award

Two firefighters from Long Eaton have received Long Service Awards at a ceremony held in North Derbyshire recently.

Amongst a number receipients, both Phiilip Allsop, who is now retired and current on-call crew manager Paul White picked up awards for service over 30 years at the ceremony in Chesterfield on 7th September hosted by Derbyshire Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Terry McDermott

Speaking at the end of the evening, Mr. McDermott said that it had been an honour to be present, and join in the celebrations to recognise long service and good conduct of individuals from across the service, individuals he said had dedicated many years to making the county safer.  He also praised the contribution of a family and friends who he said acted as the hidden support network for all Fire Service employees, to enable them to do their jobs.
