Ockbrook Redhill WI report for August 2017

Erewash Sound is pleased to present the latest round up of news from the Ockbrook Redhill branch of the WI.  Tessa Brooks reports.

PRODUCE EVENING – Making Pasta from scratch:   Steph Clubb gave expert tuition to 27 members and friends on how to make pasta and various sauces to go with it.  These Produce and Craft Evenings are open to everyone and are becoming more popular (particularly as you get to sample the produce and take home a hand made item from the craft evenings.)   Look out for future events.

BEETLE DRIVE: 30 people, including a number of children, had an enjoyable evening at this event.

CRAFT EVENING  - Ockbrook Sweat Shop: Members arrived  with their sewing machines, materials, scissors etc. and set to to make a selection of aprons, peg bags etc. for sale at the Craft & Produce Show. (see below)

CRAFT & PRODUCE SHOW: Saturday 23rd September: The Royal Oak, Green Lane, Ockbrook. DE72 3SE. 
Entries to be received on the day of the show between 10:30am and 12noon.  The event opens to the public from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.  Entries may be removed from 4:30pm onwards.  Prizes: £1, 75p and 50p.  Raffle, stalls, tombola and competitions.  Open to everyone.

NEXT MEETING: 7:30pm. 9th October at the Moravian Lecture Hall Ockbrook  when Jolyon Maclaine will give a talk on the “Ups and Downs of a Helicopter Pilot”  Competition: Good Luck Token Charm.   Everyone welcome.
