University firsts for Derby College Agriculture students

The first students from Derby College’s new level 3 Agriculture study programme based at Broomfield Hall in Morley have secured places at university.

Amongst them is James Boa (18) from Borrowash who has a long family background in farming has his sights set on dairy herd management either in the UK or abroad.

Derby College Team Manager Jon Collins said: “All these students originally came to Broomfield Hall from school on level 2 programmes and progressed to the new level 3 which we launched last year.

“We are very proud of their achievements in gaining places at university with a view to careers in agriculture and they will pave the way for other students to follow their lead.”
