Derbyshire Constabulary has announced the appointment of a new PC for the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team. PC Paul Sheldon will serve in the Long Eaton Rural District which includes Breaston, Borrowash, Draycott, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton by Dale. 2026 Mayor begins year in office with free festival fundraiser weekend

Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Greg Maskalick has successfully held a charity Blues and Rock Fest to raise money for the homeless charity Canaan Trust, which is based in Long Eaton, and Home Start in Ilkeston. The US-born Deputy Mayor of Erewash Borough Council has been using a holiday in his home town of Pittsburgh to champion the borough as a great place to do business.
