Sandiacre Lock Cottages are open one Sunday a month, staffed by volunteers of the Erewash Canal Preservation & Development Association (ECP&DA).
The cottages are the headquarters of the association and a good example of a lock keeper's cottage and stables of the canal era.
Entrance is free, but donations are welcome to help cover the costs of heating and lighting. Sandiacre Lock Cottages are located on the Erewash Canal, at Lock Lane in Sandiacre - NG10 5LA.
The association members are always looking to recruit new volunteers to help run the initiative when the cottages are open. Membership is just £5 per annum, with a Family membership of £7.50, Senior Citizens and Juniors £3, Affiliated members (clubs) £10, and life membership at £75.
The Assocation meet at their headquarters on the third Thursday in every month (except August) with meetings starting at 7:45pm prompt, with the AGM held on the third Thursday in May at 7:30pm. Volunteers wishing to join Friday work parties at Langley Mill should phone Mick Golds on 0115 9328042
