Bob StaveleyReport: As Lake Four was the only ice free lake at Dynamite Makins the Wednesday Kobra Open was switched to it.
In spite of the strong and bitterly cold East wind, four anglers caught carp, including the in form Alan Neil (Tackle Shack) who made it three consecutive wins with his 24-08 four carp catch, all on bomb and corn, from peg 7.
Second place fell to John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) from peg 9 who also landed four carp on bomb and corn for 20-04.
Lanes Bait & Tackle angler Phil Hull’s third placed 8-08 consisted on one small carp and several nice roach taken on caster on the pole.

Report: Anglers fishing the Thursday KOBRA Open, switched to Thames at Dynamite Makins, who had to break ice up to an inch thick, were pleasantly surprised that all bar one caught fish.
Alan Neil (Tackle Shack), the previous day’s winner, continued his remarkable run by making it four successive wins (2 successive doubles), putting 24-10 on the scales from peg 2. Fishing pole and baiting with pinkies, Alan landed carp to 6 lb, several ‘stockies’ and several good ‘skimmers’.
Second placed Simon Skelton (Middy) on peg 11 lost several (probably foul hooked) carp but still landed just enough for 14-04, edging Phil Hull (Lanes Bait & Tackle) who landed 14-00 from peg 15, into his third successive third placed spot.
