REID DOWN UNDER:
Breadsall based professional Ladies golfer Melissa Reid is on the other side of the world this weekend competing in the Australian MAsters at Royal Pines Resort, Queensland. One of the most consistent golfers on the Ladies Euro Tour, she is constantly striving for greater success, with regular Top 30 finishes previously and the aim to make more of an impact in the top standings. Her best finish as an amateur was 16th at the British Open, but she turned pro a few years ago.
Four majors approach for Reid - the Kraft Nabisco Championship, followed by the LPGA Championships, the US Women's Open and the British Women's Open. The current round of action down under is played between 9th and 12th February and has a $1.1m prize after being brought into the LPGA tour.
24 year old Reid has enjoyed two wins in 10 top ten finishes on last year's Ladies Tour earning over 280,000 Euro with only Japan's Ai Miyazato winning more money than Reid.
