A Royal Navy helicopter squadron and a respected former councillor are to be granted Erewash’s highest honour – the Freedom of the Borough.

The Breaston May Day Gala will be held on Monday 6th May from 11am to 4pm.  Expect a packed day of events with lots of stalls and, weather permitting, a fly past from two Spitfires from the Lincolnshire-based Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Donations on the gate of £1 per person please for everyone aged over 12.

Erewash Borough Council Town Halls will bring in new weekday opening hours from Monday 13th May.

A Fashion Show is to be held at All Saints' Church in Sawley on 13th April at 4:00pm in aid of The Canaan Trust Ladies House 'The Aspire' which is due to open this year. Tickets are £10 each including an afternoon tea.  These can be ordered by calling the Canaan Trust office on 0115 946 4903
