Changes are being introduced at Derbyshire County Council’s household waste recycling centres including in Ilkeston, to make the service more efficient and effective and to help save money.
New CCTV cameras featuring panic buttons that people can press in an emergency are to be installed in Erewash thanks to investment by Angelique Foster, Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
All voters will need to show an accepted form of photo ID at the polls in the upcoming East Midlands Combined County Mayoral Authority and Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

Connecting Erewash Week

Erewash Voluntary Action is organising a Connecting Erewash Week from 22nd – 28th April 2024 as part of the Connect Erewash initiative to combat loneliness and isolation in the borough.
The 2 year old Cubs Nursery is based in the People's Centre on Beauvale Drive in Cotmanhay, opposite Cotmanhay Infant School. Spaces are currently available for both now and after the Easter break. For more information, please call the school on 0115 930 2064 or pop into the office.
Tue, 30/04/2024 to Tue, 14/05/2024 - The Elephant Rooms, Draycott
Draycott writer, Alan Dawson, has created a free drama workshop to which he hopes he can encourage local men to attend. The workshop is focused upon a short play he is developing, Midlife: Guilty as Charged, which explores aspects of men’s mental health/ wellbeing - the writer stresses that no experience in the performing arts is necessary.  Workshops #1 and #2 are men only activities whilst a workshop / performance #3 is mixed.
