The Activities Co-ordinator at Canal Vue Care Home in Ilkeston has issued an appeal to the public for help in giving residents a boost for the festive season by offering a little bit of Christmas spirit.
Naomi Allsop said: "As you are aware it has been a very hard year for Care homes but Christmas is going to be even harder as we have been told we cannot have decorations up due to the spread of germs."
She appealed to members of the public to consider making Christmas cards for residents, or even wrap up little unwanted gifts and for any choirs or carol singers to perform outside the windows of the home..
She added: "Absolutely anything that will make this Christmas that little bit better."
