Libraries in Erewash as well as the wider county are celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a range of events, with a call issued by the County Council library service for everyone to join in.

They include:

  • Royal storytelling throughout June
  • contribute royal memories to the archive
  • jubilee makes and crafts
  • bunting workshops
  • fancy dress
  • bounce and rhyme
  • touring jubilee exhibition
  • afternoon tea and royal reminiscence.

Councillor Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, Culture, Tourism and Climate Change, said: “Our libraries have come up with lots of ways for everyone in Derbyshire to celebrate this historic occasion, as the Queen marks 70 years on the throne. So, I hope you’ll join in, play a part and enjoy this event of national and international significance.”
