Cyclist robbed of his wallet on the way to work

Published on: Friday, 26th January 2018

Officials from Derbyshire Police have released a picture of a group of men wanted for questioning about the theft of a wallet from a cyclist.

At around 7.50am on Monday, January 8, a man was cycling to work along a footpath off Canal Street, Cotmanhay, near to the wind turbine, when he stopped to avoid a patch of ice.

He was approached by three men who asked him for cigarettes and money. He refused and went to cycle off but one of the men took his wallet from his back pocket.  The three ran off towards Bridge Street.  The black wallet contained cash and bank cards.

Officers have said that the picture (seen right) is not high-quality but that the men are wearing distinctive clothing that someone may recognise.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Alison Hulme on 101, quoting reference 18000010852
