Following the decision to extend the public consultation on the proposals to develop housing at several sites in Erewash, the Borough Council would like to confirm its commitment to honour the 12-week consultation period.

The government restricted movement and advised the public to stay at home in an announcement on 23 March, so the council has stopped the clock on the core strategy consultation from that point and will restart it when restrictions are eased.

This move means the council can honour its commitment to a three-month consultation period which was confirmed at its launch earlier this year and will allow as many people as possible to take part and register their views on the core strategy.

The decision to stop the clock has been taken because, while those with online and email facilities can still read about the proposals and share their views online, other members of the public are currently unable to read the documents or pick up forms due to the closure of Ilkeston and Long Eaton town hall receptions and libraries.

The council would like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
