Erewash COVID rates drop after local efforts

Published on: Wednesday, 19th May 2021

The spike in coronavirus cases in Erewash has dropped after the local authority area climbed to number 1 in the national list.

The number of reported infections dropped by 62 percent in the seven days up to Thursday of last week.  Health officials say that the Indian variant was responsible for the latest rise in the borough but that it is not connected to an outbreak at Wilsthorpe School in Long Eaton.
