The accolades continue for Erewash Sound - named as Local Commercial Radio Station of the Year in the CorporateLiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2020.
During the process, officials invited over 90,000 businesses and corporate professionals, magazine contributors and subscribers to nominate companies and individuals based on factors such as service, innovation, experience, sustainability and other areas. Additionally, a research team put forward a selection of firms that were felt deserving of recognition.
As a result of this latest honour, the radio station has gained a place in the Innovation & Excellence Awards Guide 2020, which is distributed to businesses and professionals not just around the UK but around the World.

He said: "Erewash Sound enters 2020 to mark ten years on FM in the Erewash Borough here in Derbyshire and on the back of being declared 'Best Local Radio Station in Derbyshire' in 2018 and 'Best Local Commercial Radio Station in the East Midlands' in 2019 in the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards, and having collected eight national Community Radio Awards in three years.
This latest honour from CorporateLiveWire of 'Local Commercial Radio Station of the Year 2020' is yet another reward for the hard work of our dedicated team of volunteers who help keep the radio station on the air 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and serves as a great springboard to mark our 10th year of broadcasting and as we prepare for another five years on the air to 2025 and the launch of a second FM transmitter to better serve the Erewash borough as a whole.

Erewash Sound is a non-profit making community interest company. It launched on FM In March 2010 on a 5 year licence from the broadcast regulator OFCOM. Further five year licences were granted in 2015 and 2020 meaning that the radio station is set to continue broadcasting until March 2025. Output can be heard on 96.8FM in and around the Derbyshire borough of Erewash, as well as on line via a free-to-download mobile app, the radio station website and via smartspeakers. A second FM frequency has been granted by OFCOM to better serve the south and south-west of the area with regular programmes set to begin on this new frequency, from Monday 12th October.
