Published on: Monday, 20th June 2022

Free community household waste collections are avallable in Erewash from 25th June 2022 to 25th March 2023, with the latest round coming after previous success with residents.

All collections take place between 8am and 11:30am with council staff on hand to assist residents.

Over the course of the service there will be collections in Kirk Hallam, West Hallam, Long Eaton, Little Eaton, Sawley, Borrowash, Breadsall, Ilkeston, Stanley Village, Sandiacre, Petersham, Risley, and Draycott.

The collections are for small bulky household waste items, including small items of furniture, carpets, textiles and bagged soil.  Small household electrical waste is also accepted such as kettles, irons and toasters.

Councillor Garry Hickton, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Refuse and Recycling, said: “Erewash Borough Council is delighted to offer this brilliant service once again. It has been popular with residents in previous years thanks to the variety of collection point locations and the convenient Saturday morning time slot. We hope that the service proves just as helpful over the rest of this year and the beginning of 2023.”
