Friesland A-level results are in

Published on: Thursday, 15th August 2019

Friesland School is once again celebrating outstanding A-Level results, in fact the best results in the long history of the 6th form.

Headteacher Peter Monk commented: "Our students have performed incredibly well again this year.   I remember commenting in 2018 that every year we seem to celebrate our ‘best results ever’ and 2019 is no exception, which is particularly pleasing in the context of the new, tougher, qualifications.  The school has achieved its best ever average points score per entry and for nearly a quarter of all the students’ results to be A* or A grades says it all about the wonderful young people who study with us alongside the commitment, dedication and skill of the staff who teach them.

I am immensely proud of Friesland School today and wish our ‘Class of 2019’ all the best in their further studies, employment or training.  It is such an exciting time for these young people with their lives and careers ahead of them – there are no limits to what they can now go on to achieve".

The Director of 6th form, Mat Puddy added: "There are always individual stories behind results, league tables and statistics can never do justice to the personal challenges that students face. I am humbled by the achievements of a number of our student who have encountered significant challenges to their learning and demonstrated immense determination and resilience.  Once again I am able to confirm that the vast majority of Friesland students have obtained their first choice of destination into higher education or employment and I wish them every future happiness.  I hope that they will stay in touch with us and potentially act as guides and role models for students of the future.  This group have been an absolute pleasure to work with and will contribute richly to society."
