Man identified and set to be questioned in the wake of Long Eaton assault

Derbyshire Police have reported that a man identified in CCTV footage and wanted for questioning in relation to an assault in Long Eaton, has been identified.

The image was released earlier this week (commencing 10th June) after the assault, which is reported to have happened at around 11:45pm on Friday 24th May in Tamworth Road, Long Eaton, near to Salisbury Street.

The victim, a 26 year old man, required hospital treatment for a head injury.  Several people were in the area at the time including the person pictured in the CCTV still which was initially released but subsequently withdrawn from public circulation after he was identified.  Officers were set to question the man, who has not been publicly named, as they believe that he may be able to help them with their inquiries.
