An exercise to challenge the risks of speeding has been held in Sawley in response to feedback from the public about the issue locally.

PC Taylor was out in Lock Lane, Draycott Road and Wilne Road in the village on 15th May to carry out speed checks on passing cars.

The move comes after local concerns were raised about speeding in the community. With speeding also being a priority issue, the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team identified that checks were vital to gather information and intelligence.

Four vehicles were identified as being driven above the speed limit. Drivers received words of advice at the roadside.
