A Sandiacre woman is mourning the loss of her partner to coronavirus aged just 38.

Although 40 year old Lisa Morgan, who is an asthmatic, contracted the virus, husband Mark passed away in hospital in late November, whilst his funeral was held earlier in mid-December.

At the time of his diagnosis, the father-of-two, who had no underlying health conditions, had already been mourning the loss of a family member.

Both Lisa and Mark went for a test on October 31st and both received positive results the following day.  It is understood that after the diagnosis, Mark began to struggle to breathe and Lisa called 111 after which, her husband was taken to hospital in Derby on November 6th, but lost his life despite receiving several forms of treatment.

Lisa has since made a full recovery but neither of the couple's children, aged 15 and 11, were diagnosed with the virus.

Mr. Morgan was an entrepreneur, and ran two vape shops with his wife, in Stapleford and Ilkeston called Hemp HQ, as well as the Food2U sandwich bar which is also in Ilkeston.   His widow continues to run the respective businesses.  The couple also set up a Long Eaton-based Caribbean and English-themed cafe called The Soul Kitchen.

Tributes continue to be paid to Mr. Morgan from friends, family and customers.
