A woman with links to Long Eaton who lost her passport several years ago is on course to be reunited with the exact same document through the power of social media.
A correspondent took to the Spotted: Long Eaton Facebook page on Tuesday morning (26th January) posting a picture of the photo ID for a Danielle Halveston in an attempt to return it.
An old school friend commented to pledge to message Danielle which led to her sister Chantelle picking up on the message and getting in touch.
Danielle then said that she had lost the item four years ago and asked where it had been found after all that time.
A respondent recalled arriving home from a night out before being confronted by his partner who asked who the person was in the passport she had found, but he had no clue. The social media post went on to ask whether Danielle had ever lived in Long Eaton and owned a brown chest of drawers, concluding that it had been in there all of that time but had since become dislodged and then had been found by the man's partner.
A grateful Danielle, who had been married since, and had lived in the town until around three years ago, said that she thought she had accidentally thrown the passport away and three weeks before she had been due to go on holiday, but had subsequently obtained a new passport. The finder is returning the old one via the Passport Office.
