On your bikes

Following on from last year’s successful Balanceability project, Erewash Borough Council’s Sport and Health Development team are once again offering places for their very popular bike courses for kids.

Community Balanceability 2020 will be holding six courses throughout the borough for children aged 2 and half to 6 years of age.  They will be delivered by council staff at six venues across the borough from April to September this year.

The first course will take place at the Big Kirk Hallam Community Centre on April 16 -17 between 1pm-4pm.  You can book by contacting sportsdevelopment @ erewash.gov.uk and returning a completed consent form.10 spaces are available on each course for residents around the local area, so early applications are advised.

Balanceability courses are scheduled to be held in Long Eaton, Borrowash, Ilkeston, Sandiacre and Sawley.

Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Mike Wallis, said: “As well as learning about the fundamental key skills in how to balance, these courses provide a helping hand in teaching children how to ride confidently and safely while promoting active health.”
