Clare Smiley

Clare's very first introduction into the world of performing arts came at the tender age of two years old when she performed her first ballet performance as Tiny Tears at “The Derby Playhouse”.  Once taken to treading the boards she never looked back! Since then Clare has gone onto to have a successful career in the performing arts, which has taken her everywhere from Hollywood to Nottingham! She began by training with two of the worlds top drama schools, “East 15 Acting School”, graduating with a BA Acting Degree and “Redroofs Film and Television School”, PG course. Clare moved into the world of children’s theatre in the London’s West End and also toured Great Britain with the lead role of Dorothy in an award winning production of “The Wizard of Oz”.

Pantomimes featuring Clare as leading lady include: Alice Fitzwarren at “The Nottingham Theatre Royal”, “Sleeping Beauty” at The Kenneth Moore Theatre, Ilford, Beauty in “Beauty and the Beast” at “The Shaw Theatre”, London, Jane in “Tarzan and the Animals” and Mangirl in Jungle Book, both of which toured the UK.

Musical Theatre credits include: Phantom/understudy Janet/Magenta/Columbia in “The Rocky Horror Show” with the West End and Broadway European touring cast, she also guest starred as Anne Shelton in “American Patrol” (a show about the life of Glenn Miller.)

TV credits include “The Bill”, “Sofia’s Diary” and Clare also starred as leading actress in a “Cannes Lion Silver Award Winning Commercial” for Nescafe.

Film credits include leading actress in British horror feature, “The Board”, leading actress in short film, “The Museum” which toured the horror festival circuits UK and abroad, comedy short,  “Flush” which premiered the original “Blair Witch Project” at Leicester Square Odeon, and “Anxious Dave”, UK Feature. 

“Erewash Sound” is Clare’s first introduction into the world of live radio and she looks forward to having fun with you in her shows, she’s pleased to be back here again entertaining in her native Derbyshire.
