Report:  On a very hot and sultry day, mainly sunny with some cloud, there were carp swimming all around the lake but proving difficult to catch for many competitors. The exceptions were the top two, who both put in superb performances in contrasting ways.

On peg A5, Daz Shaw alternated between pellet waggler and bomb and pellet to catch fish steadily throughout the day to record 205-12 for a clear win.

On the opposite bank on peg B11 for the fourth successive match, Daz “Forrest” Philbin decided to concentrate on pole and corn, a decision that paid off by producing 18 carp for 159-01 for second place.

Tony Lamb (A20) caught his third placed 83-03 on pole shallow and waggler by dropping a bait on the fish’s noses to tempt them into taking it, with Steve Doherty last in the money in fourth place from peg A9 with a method feeder caught 73-08.

Terry Phillips (B13) was fifth with 71-08 (two early fish on method feeder and the rest on the pole and corn), Chris Wayte sixth from peg A13 with a waggler caught 69-00.
