Report (continued): Unfortunately, the lakes failed to fish to their potential, with many anglers struggling for bites, although Lake Three produced 264 pounds of fish to Lake Four’s 279 – showing they were quite evenly matched.

As previously, the payout was to the top three on each lake with a “win bonus” to the overall winner.

Joe Caress on Lake Four peg 5 enjoyed a day of casting his feeder towards the island to catch decent carp to put 77-09 on the scales to win overall, although he was pushed close by the other lake winner, Darren Milne (peg 4) with 75-01.  Daz caught his fish on the pole, mainly fishing shallow.

Third place went to Andy Findlay (L4 peg 9) with 65-07, with the next five weights all coming from Lake Three – Sam Collett (peg 14 taking lake second) with a pole caught 57-11, LJ Stroud (8 and taking lake third) with 40-00 taken on the pole and the waggler, Ricky Arms (10) with 31-07 (pole), and John Lack (21) with 30-15 taken on the waggler.

Phil “the bagger” Hunt took the third prize on Lake Four from peg 19 with a carp catch (taken on the bomb) of 30-10.

Many thanks to Daz Milne for assisting with the weigh-in on Lake Three, Phil Hunt and Gaz Kitch for covering Lake Four, and Joe Caress for the Lake Four photos.

Next week the match will again be held on Lakes Three & Four (21 peg limit)

NB. Nisa Opens are held every Wednesday on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook "Nisa - midweek open matches" to book a place).
