Rolls-Royce is reflecting on a highly successful Paris Air Show at which it secured a glut of new orders for engines it makes in Derby.
At the event, which took place last month, the engineering giant, which has its civil aerospace division in Derby, secured multiple contracts to supply more than 140 aircraft engines.
As a result, it will see its Sinfin site build 90 Trent XWB-97 engines, 40 Trent 7000 engines and 12 Trent XWB-84 engines for companies across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Rolls-Royce said the deals followed a £1 billion investment to the Trent engine family aimed at improving their durability and efficiency.
Speaking during the 2025 International Paris Air Show, external, Ewen McDonald, chief customer officer for the firm's civil aerospace division, said the new orders will help protect skilled jobs in Derby and ensure strong production volumes well into the 2030s.
He said: “The market opportunity right now is very buoyant. It’s always rewarding to see Rolls-Royce succeeding and keeping our factories busy with long-term engine orders.”
