A significant police response was deployed to Long Eaton at around 8:00pm on Thursday 12th September in response to reports from local residents that a sexual assault had been carried out in the area.
A man in his 50s was later arrested in connection with the incident that evening and held in custody. His name was not initially released to the public. A cordon was set up outside a convenience store at the corner of College Street and Dockholme Road and an increased police presence was deployed to the area whilst investigation work was carried out, but the cordon was latterly lifted.
No further information has been released regarding the attack or details regarding the nature and victim of the attack.
