Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team has collectively set out its new quarterly priorities, using systems and speaking to local people in and around the town, to find out what the current trends/problems are within the community.

Three pledges included to target repeat offenders causing or involved in anti-social behaviour, monitoring police reports and identifying data and trends that identify offenders causing the most threat, harm and risk. Work will be carried out with youth engagement teams and partner agencies to positively resolve the situation for the community and enforce consequences on those repeat offenders.

A partnership will also continue work supporting road safety, with proactive targeting of motor vehicles that fail to meet legal standards and put road users at risk. Number plate recognition systems will be used alongside intelligence led policing and joint operations with partner agencies to provide education and enforcement where necessary, promote road safety awareness through school visits and youth engagement sessions and work on specific road safety operations.

Intelligence from the CREST department will also be used for drivers of vehicles overtly abusing speed cameras in the locality.

Finally, throughout the darker nights and winter months, when a spike is often noticed in acquisitive related crimes, businesses, dwelling and vehicles, officers will be completing foot patrol, stop searches of individuals where grounds apply and offering acquisitive crime prevention at community engagements.
