Leon Jackman shares his predictions for the finale of season four of the Traitors... Plus other things! Erewash Sound
A community initiative that aims to bring residents in one of Erewash’s neighbourhoods together is being backed by Erewash Borough Council – with the authority launching an official online survey to learn how it can boost the health and wellbeing of locals.
Kirk Hallam Connect says its mission is to create positive change. One way is to get people of all ages to take part in increased physical activity – and the council wants to find out what might be stopping them.
It has teamed up with Active Derbyshire and Sport England to seek ways to “make being active easier and more enjoyable for everyone in Kirk Hallam”.
The survey asks residents to rate their current wellbeing and motivation – and includes questions about local amenities. It takes only a few minutes to complete and can be found here.
The consultation was launched ahead of Kirk Hallam’s Cat and Fiddle pub hosting a meeting of the Connect group on Monday 19th January – which all residents and community partners were welcome to attend.
A Facebook post billed the forum as an opportunity to “bring together ideas, energy and action to improve our community”. The invitation to it read: “Come along, say hi, and see what we’re all about.”
The survey is open until midnight on Saturday 31st January.
Cllr Josy Hare, who is Erewash’s Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “Regular exercise is something we encourage all our residents to take part in – and there may well be ways the people of Kirk Hallam can boost their fitness levels with help from the authority. That is what this survey is all about.”
