Public reports lead to response over sales of illegal products

Police officers from Long Eaton have partnered with Trading Standards officials to carry out a visit to a shop in the town.

The operation on Friday 19th September came after numerous reports were received from members of the public that the shop had been selling illegal products.

During the visit, officers located numerous packs of illegal cigarettes and tobacco, all of which were seized as part of an investigation.

A statement from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to identify and tackle issues within the local community.

“A special thank you to Alfie, the spaniel, who’s excellent work helped officers locate some products in a nearby vehicle.”
