Erewash MP Maggie Throup is backing the launch of a new initiative by the Erewash Primary Care Network (PCN) to help boost the number of local residents vaccinated against COVID-19.

The PCN will be running two drop-in clinics at the Long Eaton Health Centre (Midland St, Long Eaton NG10 1RY) on Saturday 19th June and Saturday 26th June between 9:00am and 12:30pm.

Anyone aged 18 or over can attend without an appointment, where they will receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Speaking about the clinics, Maggie said: “We have come so far and although it is regrettable, the delay to Step 4 of the Roadmap gives us that crucial extra time needed to ensure that as many eligible adults receive their first dose of the COVID vaccine before the remaining restrictions are finally lifted on Monday 19th July 2021.

“I would therefore urge anyone aged 18 or over and who has not yet been vaccinated, to take up the offer of a jab in order to protect themselves, their family and friends.

“I want to reiterate my thanks to the team at the Erewash PCN for organising these drop-in clinics and also to everyone working and volunteering in support of the vaccination programme – you are truly the envy of the world!”
