Serious incident on the edge of the borough leads to multiple road closures

A number of roads in the west of the borough had to be closed late on Tuesday morning (13th) following a serious collision at a major road junction.

The incident occurred where Mansfield Road meets Lime Lane and Brookside Road near Breadsall.

Mansfield Road at Alport Heights and Lime Lane at Morley Smithy, Lime Lane at King's Corner and Brookside Road at Church Lane were all affected with roads closed for some time with drivers asked to take alternative routes and avoid the area.

Local reports suggest that one victim needed CPR at the road side but the exact condition of those involved has not been confirmed.  All roads had reopened by 2:30pm.
