Police express gratitude after the recovery of motorbike stolen from Sandiacre

Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have issued a note of thanks to members of the public who have co-operated and assisted with enquiries into the recent theft of a motorcycle from Sandiacre

Following a spate of similar thefts in and around Erewash, another theft was recorded in the town over the weekend of 6th and 7th January, but the bike was subsequently recovered following a Police pursuit.

A joint operation between officers from both Derbyshire and Nottingham Constabularies and including a helicopter from the National Police Air Service led to a successful operation.  A suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with the theft but also for several motoring offences.  

A full investigation has been continuing.
