The Stute Bowls Club is holding another Charity Day on Saturday 27th July from 9am.

This event has been held annually for several years and has previously raised £17,500 for Blood Cancer UK. The 2024 event is celebrating the 10th anniversary.

After the sad passing of a friend of organisers Gary and Lesley Owen, this year, funds will also be raised for Alpha 1 UK Foundataion, which supports those with lung and liver diseases.  Their friend was well respected in the flat green bowling community in and around Derbyshire and other counties.

The 27th July will see the staging of the event at the Stute Bowls Club on Hallam Fields, Ilkeston, combining it as the club's 'Presidents Day'. Both Gary and Lesley are the Derbyshire English Bowling Federation Presidents represeting men and women.  All are welcome to an event which will include a Round Robin bowls tournament taking place all day, plus raffles, a tombola, games and much more.

A licenced bar will serve a selection of beers, and there will also be hot and cold refreshments on offer plus homemade cakes to purchase as well as cream teas and more.
