Steps are being taken by Derbyshire County Council to temporarily limit the number of fridges and freezers collected at its household waste recycling centres. MP describes NHS clinic “appointment only” restrictions as “disappointing and sad”

Increased demand has led to four Derbyshire NHS clinics being restricted to “appointment only” for several hours a day, in a move dubbed “disappointing and sad” by an MP. Opening hours at four urgent treatment centres in Buxton, Ilkeston, Matlock and Ripley are to remain the same at 8am to 8pm but walk-ins will now be restricted for the tail end of each day, with appointments required. Police respond with statement after increase in anti-social driving incidents in Ilkeston

Police officers in Ilkeston have responded having been made aware of an increase in instances of anti-social driving in the town. A statement said that issues, already known to affect Chalons Way, had become worse, but that surrounding areas were also being affected. Local residents are being encouraged to report anti-social driving seen occurring in the area. Plans to turn a series of historic pub buildings into flats have emerged after a bid to make the site a 19-bed HMO was rejected.
