Staff from a ladies’ gym in Ilkeston are organising a Family Easter Bubble Hunt at Victoria Park on Thursday 2nd April.
The team from Curves Ilkeston will be at the park from 10:00am, armed with clues to take youngsters on a ‘bubble trail’ around the park with bubble prizes at the end.
Curves owner Sally Peacock said: “We wanted to organise a fun activity for the local community that was a truly inclusive event. We’ve got a host of cute visual bubble-clues to find and every child who finds them all can claim their bottle of blowing bubbles as a prize.
“Our mission is to promote physical activity and a healthy relationship with food. We’re not here to demonise chocolate, we want to highlight alternatives and using the bubble theme means that families living with food allergies and intolerances can come and join in.”
The hunt will also be fully accessible and there is plenty of seating so everyone can participate at their own level, which, Sally said is: “crucial when encouraging physical activity.”
You can bring a snack, or a picnic, and enjoy some family time outdoors.
The event is completely free so no money is required on the day, and coaches will be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Sally added: “All we ask is that children are supervised by an adult throughout.”
The event is expected to end around 1:00pm.
Curves Ilkeston opened in 2005 on Bath Street, relocated to Awsworth Road in 2011 and currently has around 300 members.
