Derby College Group’s Broomfield Hall is inviting the local community to celebrate Valentine’s season in a truly heart-warming way with a Valentine’s Day themed Animal Unit Open Day on Sunday 8th February 2026 from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
This Valentine-themed open day offers a refreshing alternative to the usual celebrations, combining animals, education, and community spirit in a relaxed and joyful setting. Whether visiting with family, friends, or loved ones, guests are guaranteed a memorable day filled with smiles, learning, and plenty of heart.
Set within the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, Broomfield Hall is renowned for its historic agricultural roots, green open spaces, and specialist animal care facilities. The open day offers visitors of all ages the chance to get up close with animals, support local and national charities, and enjoy a fun, affordable family day out, all while supporting the future development of the Animal Unit.

All money raised on the day will go directly towards improving and expanding the Animal Unit, helping to enhance facilities, enrich student learning, and continue the development of high-quality animal care provision at Broomfield Hall.

Tickets will be available on the door only
No advance booking is required.
Travel and accessibility
Public transport: Two regular bus services stop at Broomfield Hall. Visitors are advised to check the Trent Barton or Catch Your Bus websites for routes and timetables.
Disabled access: Most of the Broomfield Hall campus is accessible. However, as a working farm campus, some terrain may be uneven and attractions may be spaced across the site.
Disabled parking is available in the Main Car Park, accessed via the Main Entrance.
Visitors requiring additional support or with access queries are encouraged to get in touch in advance, and staff will be happy to assist.
