Erewash Sound Studio One

Have you ever thought about working in radio? There is more to it than the person behind the microphone.

Perhaps you have skills that you would like to put to good use in the community but wouldn't necessarily like to go on-air?

Erewash Sound is a licenced community radio station broadcasting 24/7 on FM and online.  We are looking to welcome new people to 'get involved'!

So if you've got skills to offer including admin and customer service skills, if you're an enthusiastic person looking for a new challenge, if you're looking for some practical media experience, have always wanted to work in radio or have some previous radio experience, or just love what we do and why we do it, and you'd like to get involved with a genuinely local radio station, broadcasting entirely from the borough, read on.

Please note that ALL positions are voluntary unless stated.

You would need:
- to be a strong team player
- to be a people person
- have some time to spare on a regular basis.

We welcome team members with radio experience but this is not essential as relevant training is available.

  • To generate sales leads.
  • To sell advertising and sponsorship air-time on Erewash Sound. 
  • To talk to and create relationships with local business. 
  • To work to ensure that the campaign works for the client.

You will be able work your own hours, allowing you to arrange other occupational or family commitments alongside. 

We are looking for someone with a sales background, who can give great customers service and forge and foster positive relationships with local business.  You will need to be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.  This is a generous commission only role.

Erewash Sound CIC currently has vacancies for the following voluntary non-executive board positions.  Please note that a full application including CV is required with suitable applicants invited to an interview.

  • Marketing Director:

    The primary role is to help promote the radio station across the borough:

    1. Seek out local events which would be suitable for the station to attend;

    1. Organise attendance at the events, including the level of presence;

    1. Keep an accurate record of all attendees;

    1. Seek out and purchase station merchandise and marketing materials (such as leaflets) for ‘giveaways' - emphasising on longevity of the product;

    1. Consider and approve potential sponsorship deals with local establishments e,g. sports teams, local charitable organisations;

    1. Lead station marketing campaigns – including on-air, print and online;

    1. Responsibility for the Erewash Sound brand.
