Better late than never – Kirsty gets her award

Despite having won a 2025 Community Radio Award, Erewash Sound presenter Kirsty Corbett did not instantly get her certificate.

The annual awards event which seeks to recognise the skills of presenters in the community radio sector was held back in October 2025 and led to Kirsty picking up Silver in the Newcomer of the Year category.

As volunteer led organisation, presenters often come and go at different times, and don’t often get chance to catch up with each other.

So, when there was an opportunity for Brand Ambassador Jeff Martin to catch up with Kirsty Corbett, there was an ideal chance to address this by-no-means small matter and make sure that she was properly presented with a hard-earned certificate.

Better late than never Kirsty, but congratulations!

You can hear Kirsty on Sunday mornings from 8:00am to 10:00am and on Tuesday afternoons between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
