Derby College awarded 'College of Excellence' honour

Derby College has been awarded a College of Excellence 2022 by Ragdale Hall Spa, in recognition of outstanding practice and standards in beauty training.

The College of Excellence award certifies that Derby College has high standards of training and consistently collaborates with Ragdale Hall Spa to offer students work experience and enhance employment opportunities.

Derby College Holistic Therapies teacher Justine Walker said: “The Hall has recruited learners from the College before and we are delighted to have now been awarded College of Excellence status."

“It paves the way for our students to gain valuable work experience enhanced with a special timetable at College with different roles and flexible working times to prepare them for the world of work.”

Spokesperson for the hall, Lynne-Marie Benzie said: "Derby College has been awarded ‘College of Excellence’ status for their continued commitment and dedication. Each year we visit the students at college to carry out a career presentation and evaluate the skills of those who are interested in a five day work placement.”

Colleges are reviewed annually and must continue to meet appropriate standards in order to maintain their College of Excellence status.
