Derby College Group welcomed students and employers to the Roundhouse today for its much-anticipated Get Hired event, a vibrant careers and employment showcase designed to connect young people with businesses and organisations offering career advice, job opportunities, and apprenticeships.
The event provided a valuable platform for students to engage with employers from a variety of industries, gain insights into potential career paths, and build connections as they prepare to take their next steps into the world of work.
A huge thank you was offered to the many businesses and organisations who took part and made the day so impactful. These included the Royal Air Force, Derbyshire Constabulary, staff from the DWP Ilkeston JobCentre, the Royal Navy Submarine Service, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, and Careers Team Joined Up Care Derbyshire
Every organisation brought something unique to the event, from practical career advice to live job and apprenticeship opportunities, helping to inspire and equip students as they plan their futures.
Carol Dixon, Director of Employer Partnerships at Derby College Group, said: “The event was about giving our students the chance to meet partner employers, ask questions, and understand what opportunities are out there. The support from local and national businesses has been incredible, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success.”
The Get Hired event highlights Derby College Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting students’ career journeys and strengthening links between education and industry.
