Derby man charged with attempting to burgle three homes

A Derby man has been charged with attempting to burgle three homes in the county, all in the Erewash borough.

Marek Pecha has been charged with three counts of attempted burglary with intent to steal.

The offences relate to attempted burglaries at two homes in Station Road, Stanley, and another in Shaftesbury Avenue, Sandiacre, between 4am and 6.30am on Wednesday 17th September.

The 44-year-old, of Belgrave Street, Derby, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24th October.

He was remanded into custody and was next due to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 4th November.

Pecha was arrested by officers from the Neighbourhood Acquisitive Crime Team.

The investigation into the matter is still ongoing and Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for anyone with information about the three incidents to come forward.

Of particular interest is anyone who may have CCTV, Ring doorbell or dash cam footage that covers the locations of the offences and has not yet already spoken to officers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers using one of the methods below, quoting incident numbers 25*548712 or 25*547937 for the offences in Stanley, and 25*563976 for the offence in Sandiacre.
