Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) has published ‘Our Year 2021/22’, a document celebrating the Service’s key achievements and data from the last financial year.

Titled 'Our Year 2021/22', the annual report has been issued in the form of an infographic that sets out the Service’s performance, financial position, incident and response data, prevention and protection activity, LGBT+ and inclusion activity, in addition to Service awards and much more.

Derbyshire’s Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Gavin Tomlinson said: “2021/22 was another busy year for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service as our employees came together and continued to deliver our services to the communities of Derbyshire. The year also saw us pick up several awards including an outstanding workplace award, and a place in the top 50 inclusive employer’s index.

“During the year we responded to 6,800 emergency incidents as well as carrying out 1,013 fire safety audits, 13,228 safe and well checks to those most vulnerable to the risk of fire and completed just under 4,000 visits to non-domestic premises to gather operational risk information. We also made 1,864 adult and children at risk referrals to our partners.

“Everyone knows that the fire and rescue service responds to fires and other emergencies, but many people will be unaware of other areas of our work that see us assessing risk, educating school children, making safeguarding referrals, fitting portable misting systems and acting as a legislate authority in planning and licensing applications. Our Year is the perfect corporate document to not only provide assurance that this work takes place, but it also raises awareness of our work to the communities of Derbyshire. I would recommend everyone takes a couple of minutes to view the document and see exactly who we are and what we do.”
