Connecting Erewash Week

Erewash Voluntary Action is organising a Connecting Erewash Week from 22nd – 28th April 2024 as part of the Connect Erewash initiative to combat loneliness and isolation in the borough.

The Connecting Erewash week aims to highlight community groups and their activities, support people to build connections, and raise awareness about loneliness and social isolation.

During the week there will be two events taking place at Erewash Voluntary Action.

Community Information Day – Thursday 25th April 2024:
On Thursday 25th April 2024 a Community Information Day is being organised from 10:30am – 2:30pm at Erewash Voluntary Action, Granville Avenue, Long Eaton. NG10 4HD.  There will be a variety of community groups and organisations setting up information stands providing details of their group activities and how to become involved.

Everybody is welcome to pop down anytime no need to book, teas and coffees will be available, and it is all free of charge.  A great way to find out more about local community groups and how to connect with others.

Connect Erewash Conference – Sunday 28th April 2024:
On Sunday 28th April 2024 a Connect Erewash Conference will take place from 2:30pm – 5:30pm at Erewash Voluntary Action.  The conference will be an event to highlight loneliness and isolation and to showcase the Connect Erewash work.

The conference will include three expert speakers who will talk about loneliness and isolation and how this effects people and communities.  There will be a question and answer panel with the speakers. Participants will take part in group discussions to share views, ideas and solutions and a call for action to make Erewash more connected!

The conference is open to anybody interested in the topic and includes Erewash community groups and organisations, charities not for profit organisations, statutory services and organisations and individual residents.  There is no charge to attend.
