Hair stylists through to finals of top industry competition

A Long Eaton-based hairstylists firm is celebrating after three of its members of staff secured places at the UK finals of a major hairdressing industry competition.

KH Hair Group staff are part of the TrendVision Awards which celebrate exceptional talent in hairdressing. The initiative has become one of the most iconic hair competitions in the industry’s UK and Irish calendar. 

Stylists, Helen Stilwell, Amelia Krasinski and Emily Dyer are three of only eight finalists to make it through in the ‘Transformation Award” category.

For the first round of the competition, entrants were asked to enter a before and after image of their model on Instagram which was then judged by a panel of highly experienced and respected industry experts. The trio’s photographic entries were chosen from hundreds of submissions sent in from across the UK.

Helen, Amelia and Emily are now preparing to take to the stage at the TrendVision 2025 main event, where they and their fellow finalists will recreate their transformational look in front of a live audience.

45-year-old salon manager, Helen, said that getting to the final genuinely means the world to her. “After years of passion and dedication to this industry, I’ve always pushed myself to grow and evolve in everything I do,” she explains. “As you get older, it’s easy to question where you fit in or whether you're still making an impact, so to be recognised like this is incredibly validating and emotional. It’s a reminder that creativity and hard work truly do pay off.

“Taking to the stage at the live final will be all about delivering consistency, creativity, and precision under pressure, demonstrating not just the look, but the process and professionalism behind it, and I can’t wait!”

25-year-old Emily is just as excited. She said: “I absolutely love TrendVision! I’ve assisted, attended, and I even became a finalist back in 2020 but, due to lockdown, I never got to experience the live final,” she says. “Over the past few years, I’ve entered again but didn’t make it through. It was my biggest goal for 2025 and I’m beyond excited to be heading to the final I’m pouring everything I have into this one. Let’s go!!”

Group managing director, Darren Messias, added: “We are thrilled for Helen, Amelia and Emily. The images they entered for the Transformation Award are absolutely stunning, and we know how much hard work went into producing them. All of us at KH Hair would like to wish them lots of luck for the final.” 

The TrendVision Award final will be held at London's Natural History Museum on Monday 6th October, where an audience of industry experts will come together to celebrate the very best of UK and Ireland’s hairdressing.
