Support Erewash Sound

Erewash Borough Council is encouraging those involved in all things creative in the borough to apply for funding to help with their initiatives.

If you are a local arts professional, community group, individual or arts organisation within the borough you can apply for a small arts grant of up to £800 to help projects that will benefit Erewash residents. Grants can help to provide marketing for small groups, the delivery of creative workshops, engaging groups with specific needs, exhibitions and more.

Previous successful recipients who have benefited from the funding include Legacy of Lace. a project with a strong local identity here in Erewash. They went on to have regional significance and are still going strong with extra funding from the Arts Council, and Ilkeston Arts and Camera Club who were awarded a small arts grant to help strengthen their online opportunities. It also enabled them to keep a core group of non-professional artists connected during difficult times, offering new skills and finding new ways to remain engaged.

Successful recipients have used the funding to build relationships between local artists and community events, for example you might consider applying for a Small Arts Grant to design and build a lantern that represents your community for Erewash Festival of Light being held on February 12, 2022.

The grants are available each year and applications are being accepted up until Wednesday 31 March 2022, though early submissions are encouraged. The funding available is limited and once the budget has been allocated for the year the grant programme will be closed.

Councillor Paul Maginnis, Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing at Erewash Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to offer the Small Arts Grants to creative groups to give them the boost they need for upcoming projects. These grants go a long way in helping local arts within the borough and are very popular so if you feel you or your group could benefit from a helping hand please apply now.”

For an application pack please contact the Arts Development team Arts.Dev@erewash.gov.uk or call 0115 907 2244 ext. 4604.
