An East Midlands housing association has installed solar panels at one of its offices to support its goal of working in ways to better support the environment.
Futures Housing Group has put the energy saving measure at its office in Heanor, Derbyshire which is used by some of its 450+ workforce.
Belinda Swift, Sustainability Assistant at Futures said: “Like all offices with lots of computers, electricity usage can be high, so installing the solar panels can reduce energy costs and help save money that we can then invest in our customers’ homes.”
It is expected that almost 20% of energy usage at the Heanor office will now be powered by clean, green electricity generated from the panels.
Belinda added: “As well as making our customers’ homes more energy efficient, we also have a responsibility to work in ways that better support the environment. We’re proud to take this important step toward reducing our carbon footprint and supporting our sustainability goals.”
