Officers from Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team have arrested a prolific shop lifter.
The arrest of Nathan Harris was carried out on Monday 7th October. Mr. Harris subsequently appeared at Derby Magistrates Court on the morning of 8th October and received a 52 week custodial sentence after pleading guilty.
Sergeant Duffield said: "Shoplifting can be devastating for a business, but it can be equally harmful to the wellbeing of staff and colleagues who all deserve to feel safe at work. It is vitally important that stores continue to report these incidents to us, and they can be assured that we will take robust action to bring the suspects to justice.
"I would like to thank the public who helped us locate Harris, who is a habitual offender, their direct action helped us remove him from our streets."
