An Ilkeston woman has raised well over £2,000 for charity after completing a month-long challenge during March.
Shareen Shaw ventured outside each day with the aim to walk 11,000 steps for her Dad, and in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. She was often seen out and about in the area walking her dog Cooper.
Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with reports suggesting that the disease kills one man every 45 minutes - including dads, partners, sons, brothers, grandads and uncles.
Shareen set a challenge for supporters via an on-line page for donations, with aims to dye her hair in the charity's colour - Royal Blue - and with a greater amount, along with a nursing colleague, has pledged to shave her hair off as part of the Prostate Cancer UK March the Month campaign.
At the last count, she had completed jut over 414,000 steps amassing £2366 through donations from individuals and local businesses, with scores of messages left in support.
