An Ilkeston food blogger is championing the use of slow cookers to help deal with the cost of living.
Becky Brown lives on her own, but uses her slow cooker for batch cooking to cut down on how often she has to use more expensive appliances.
She said that it is much more cost effective than using the oven: "They are inexpensive to buy, so, depending on the size of your family. like, for me I've got a large one, but because I live on my own, I do batch cooking, but if you buy a small, medium or large one, you don't have to buy one with fancy gadgets and stuff on it, they all do the same thing."
